The new franchisee, BME Group, issued a statement late in the day on Friday, Feb. 8, announcing that the location on Route 211 in Middletown is scheduled to reopen next month after temporarily closing last month for undisclosed reasons.
“The Middletown, N.Y., Golden Corral location will re-open next month under new ownership,” a spokesperson wrote in an email. “The new franchisee, BME Group, is in the final stages of completing minor renovations to the restaurant interior and looks forward to serving the Middletown community.”
Customers were surprised on Jan. 10 last month, when a printed sign was found on the front door of the restaurant that read “To our valued guests Golden Corral Middletown will be temporarily closed.”
BME Group has stated that all former employees have been paid for the wages owed to them by the former franchisee and each will reportedly have the opportunity to reapply their for their old positions.
